Hirsute pursuits

25 May 2008

By Nagi Noda, via slow boat.

Its been a slow day at work so far (10.15am, hooray) and I came across this site, the Museum of Online Museums. There are some awesome ones, in particular I like the Airline Spoon flickr group/museum. Other notable mentions include the sexy PEZ ads collection (how they managed to end up witha topless woman is beyond me) and the grocery list museum. But airline spoons are so underrated! I’ve got a modest collection of pilfered spoons (Shh.. its only 4 or 5) and these are a couple of favourite ones. I didn’t get very far through the collection though, there are over 1,200 pages! I also stopped because I realised, “Is this what my life has come to?”

Lace fence

10 March 2008

This is really old news by now, but I still like it alot. By Dutch designers Demakersvan.

“The Lace Fence project translates that line of thinking.
Fencing is a sign how we modified and cultivated our environment.
Like brambles fences are rising rampantly around us.
What would happen if a patch of embroided wire would meet with
and continue as an industrial fence. Hostility versus kindness,
industrial versus craft.”

Ok.
